Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you?
I’m Deborah Carney, most widely known for our book blog BookGoodies.com, but I am an author as well. On this site I feature my photo books that are filled with photos myself and my fiance Vinny O’Hare have taken all around the Southwest.
I’ve been a photographer since my teens, which were quite a long time ago ๐ After what has been a turbulent life, with the latest disaster being devastated by Hurricane Sandy, photography is how I find peace. Many of my images are available for you to browse at our SmugMug Gallery. We had our own online gallery, but Sandy took our equipement out to sea. Ok, not really, but salt water corroded everything on contact and all our “stuff” is in a parking lot in a huge trash pile.
Where in the world are you blogging from? Tell a random fact or something special about your current location. Feel free to share pictures.
I’ve relocated at least for a year or two to San Tan Valley, Arizona which is close to some of the most beautiful places I have photographed.
Which is your favorite post that you have written that you want everyone to read?
The posts about Buddha Beach and it’s affect on me.
If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?
James Herriot. Hands down. I read his books over and over and they inspire me every time. I even bought the unabridged audiobooks and listened to those. I love animals and he adored them and I loved the way he wrote.
What is your favorite part about the book blogging community?
That’s easy, the last word in your question – community. Book bloggers and authors need to become more of a community. We need each other. A blog can’t grow without readers, an author can’t sell books without exposure. The more we work together to become a community, the better off every one will be.
